RADM Rev. Dr. Daniel L. Gard CHC, USN (Ret) (-)


Dr. Gard is a 1975 graduate of Carthage College, Kenosha, Wisconsin (BA), a 1984 graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (MDiv), and a 1988 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana (MA). From 1984 until 1989, he served as pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Woodland, Indiana. Dr. Gard joined the faculty of Concordia Theological Seminary in 1989. He holds a PhD in Hebrew Bible/Judaica with minors in New Testament and Liturgics from the University of Notre Dame (1992). Presently, he serves as Prsident of Concordia University Chicago. He retired in 2016 from the post of Rear Admiral in the United States Navy Chaplain Corps with the title of Deputy Chief Of Chaplains For Reserve Matters.
