Lowe is a teacher in the Classics Department at John Burroughs School in St. Louis, MO. "Jim Lowe joined the Burroughs faculty in 1989 and teaches 7th grade Latin, Latin II, Honors Latin IV and Foundations of Western Literature. He is also a college counselor. Prior to coming to Burroughs, Lowe taught at Hope College in Michigan.
