Springer is the Classis Department Chair at John Burroughs School in St. Louis, MO.
"Avery Springer joined the Burroughs faculty in 1997. She currently serves as chair of the Classics Department and teaches Latin 7, Latin II, Latin III and V. In addition, she is teaching Greek I and the elective course on the history of classical art. Springer is also one of the two master schedulers. She is the faculty sponsor of the Classics and Chess Clubs and serves as a chaperone and guide for the department's Italy trip. Springer holds a bachelor of arts degree in Greek and Latin from Colby College, and a master of arts degree and doctorate in Latin from the University of Wisconsin.
