He currently (2003-) serves as District President of the Indiana District of the LC-MS, in Fort Wayne, Ind. Prior to his election in 2003 he served the district in various capacities, as Vice President (1992-2003), Circuit Counselor (1984-1992), et al. President May has served various congregations as pastor: First Lutheran Church in Natchez, MS; St. Peter, Fort Wayne, IN; and then St. James, Lafayette, IN (1976-2003). He has also served on two boards: Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc. and the Tippecanoe County 4-H Board and Community Religious Life Committee in Lafayette, IN. He earned his B.D. from Concordia Theological Seminary, Springfield, Ill. in 1970. Previously, he graduated from Concordia College in Milwaukee and Concordia University, River Forest.
