Rv. Dr. Paul Philip Spitz (1923-1992)
Pastor at Seward, Nebraska and St. Louis, Missouri, serving St. Stephen Lutheran Church and Timothy Lutheran Church, both in St. Louis. He served as a missionary-at-large in Thermopolis, Wyoming after graduating from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri. He was director of missions for the LCMS's Western District and then the Missouri District, serving as President of the latter. He received a doctor of divinity, honoris causa, from Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, Indiana and a doctor of letters, honoris causa, from Concordia College (now University), Seward, Nebraska.
