Rev. Dr. Wilhelm Torgerson (-)


A Canadian-born German schooled by the LCMS which included a B.D. (1971) from Concordia Theological Seminary, Springfield, Illinois. He served as a Lutheran pastor in Berlin and as one of the SELK's vice-presidents. In April 2007, Rev. Torgerson resigned both positions and moved to Wittenberg to establish a uniquely Lutheran ministry there. He recently retired (effective Aug. 31, 2009) as managing director of the Wittenberg Project, a continuing operation of the International Lutheran Society of Wittenberg (ILSW) on behalf of both the SELK and LCMS.
